Corn Leaves - I walked into a cornfield one day, set up my 4X5 press camera, and took a number of images of corn leaves. I have always like this one. It reminds me of a feather. It is also exceptionally sharp having been made with large format film. Looking at it today, I feel the need to photograph corn again. All of my close up plant picture owe something to Georgia O'Keefe who painted flowers close up, and Paul Caponigro's study of the sunflower. It is true that if your photographs are not strong enough, you are not close enough! This image, which was made in the summer of 1973, is 19.5"X13.5" image on 22"X17" paper museum matted to 30"X24". Limited edition of 50. Signed and numbered by artist under image in archival pen. Bright White Museum Mat cut by Archival Methods. Shipped in a Print Pad by Airfloat Systems.
