Rust and Rope

Rust and Rope

Rust and Rope: An image of a rope hanging from a piece of a barge in a shipyard where barges are built. It.was taken in the fall of 1973, and was made after I saw the sculpture of Peggy Guggenheim in NYC. The rope reminded me of her work. It was the first color picture I ever developed and printed in the darkroom. That print long ago faded. This new image is better in every way, including the fact that it is made with pigment inks that will not show signs of fading in at least 100 years. The film is a true survivor. i have kept it all in plastic filing pages in binders in a dry environment all these years, but about ten years ago, I scanned it, and took out defects. Now it can be preserved almost forever. It is one of an edition of 10, which is printed on demand by me on on 22"X17" Epson Exhibition Fiber paper. It will be titled and numbered on the lower left, and signed and dated, on the lower right, under the image. It will be matted to 30"X24" with bright white museum board. The mat to be cut by Archival Methods, the same company that mats work for shows in prestigious museums. Lastly, it will be shipped in an AirFlowSystems Print Pad which will protect it to it's destination.
